Search MAA Journals

If you need to select a topic from articles published in MAA journals, there are three primary options.

First, you can brose the journal tables of contents (see above).

Second, you can to search the index to Mathematics Magazine and the College Mathematics Journal.  This index from Harvey Mudd College searches article titles, authors and first paragraphs.  You can find access to the articles via JSTOR.  More recent issues are available in print in the Geneseo Mathematics department.

Third, you can also search 3 MAA journals (Mathematics Magazine, College Mathematics Journal and the American Mathematical Monthly) by doing an advanced in JSTOR.  This will search the full text of all articles.  Use the "Get It" button to request the full text of articles we don't have access to.

  1. Go to the advanced search in JSTOR
  2. Scroll down, under the "Narrow by discipline and/or publication title" heading, and click on the plus sign next to the Mathematics subject heading.
  3. Click on the check boxes next to the three MAA publications (Mathematics Magazine, College Mathematics Journal and the American Mathematical Monthly)
  4. Scroll back up to the top and uncheck the box that says "Include only content I can access"
  5. Do your search.
