Advice about English Translations of Articles from Non-English Speaking Countries

Finding English translations of newspaper and magazine articles can be challenging.  Some web pages devoted to research on a historical topic provide English translations of a few selected articles but you must be aware of the criteria that the web page uses to choose the articles they provide. Many books that are collections of primary sources also translate a few articles, but again, be aware that you are getting only a small selection of the possible articles in existence. See the tab on Primary Sources for more advice.

Pre-18th Century Newspapers & Magazine Articles (Primary Sources)

There were newspapers and broadsheets published before 1700; most of them can be found reprinted in books or online. Do a search in IDS Search using your topic and terms like documents, sources, publications, articles, periodicals, newspapers. Try GoogleBooks as well.
