Schedule a Research Consultation
Librarians are available to schedule one-on-one Research Consultations to help with your research needs. This can be done in two ways:
- Consultation at the Library: Fill out the Research Consultation Request Form. A librarian will contact you to schedule a meeting.
- Virtual Meeting: Librarians will be happy to meet with you virtually using the medium in which you are most comfortable (Skype, Elluminate, or GoTo Meeting, Google Talk, AIM Video IM, etc...). If you don't know which of these to use, the librarian can help you. Fill out the Research Consultation Request Form. Please Note in this request that you would like a virtual meeting.
Welcome!
Welcome to the Milne Library's guide for students enrolled in online courses.
As an online student you will have access to books, journal articles (both print and online), DVDs, online newspapers, databases, and IM Chat much as an on-campus student would. What you WILL NOT have access to are materials on reserve in Milne, books in the reference collection, and face-to-face assistance from reference librarians.
The tabs above will help you:
- Start your research
- Obtain articles and books from a distance
- Find course reserves
- Get help
How can we make this guide more helpful to you? Be sure to fill out our feedback form!
Accessing Electronic Resources off-Campus
IMPORTANT! When you try to use a resource from off campus, you will be prompted for your Geneseo ID and password (this is the same ID and password you use to access your geneseo email account). Once that's verified, you'll get a link to begin using the database through the proxy server.
If you don't know your Geneseo ID/password or need assistance accessing myCourses for your online class, you can contact the CIT HelpDesk.
