This guide contains information and resources for adopting, adapting, and building Open Educational Resources for your courses at SUNY Geneseo.

SUNY OER Services

SUNY OER Services, a SUNY-wide support service housed in Milne Library, provides support for faculty who plan to convert a part or a whole of their course over to Open Educational Materials. This support can include assistance in incorporating materials into Canvas; printing out open materials; training in Open Educational Concepts.

  • Print out an open textbook for your course or provide it through the bookstore as a print option
  • Alter a currently existing open textbook
  • Connect with fellow faculty members who have adopted or adapted open materials for their courses
  • Create your own open materials
  • Get funding for converting your course to OER
