The Milne Library Human Books Event will be held online through Zoom on Wednesday, October 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Human Books reservation are now open. Browse the books and click on the "SignUp" icon to reserve your spot. Each Human Book can be reserved by one person only.
The Human Books Event utilizes a positive and interactive approach to challenge stereotypes and prejudices in a constructive atmosphere of exploration and discovery. The event is intended to encourage dialogue as a path toward developing intellectual curiosity, empathy, and empowerment through the exploration of diversity, equity, and inclusion perspectives.
A Human Book is someone with a unique perspective and a personal story to tell or a passion to share. They’ll engage with Geneseo students, faculty, staff, and members of the community in several small groups or one-on-one conversations during the four-hour event. Though prepared remarks are fine, these are conversations, not presentations. See some Human Books examples here.
